Michaella Ahorbo is our newest Research Assistant. She has a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology degree from the University of Health and Allied Sciences. Her role will be to conduct and support lab activities such as DNA extraction, PCR, Sequencing and data analysis. Michaella is interested in understanding malaria parasite diversity and its association with parasite drug resistance. She will be working on a project that seeks to monitor the emergence of artemisinin resistance in Ghana through the use of MIP capture coupled with other Next Generation Sequencing techniques.
