Using genomic tools to aid in the control and elimination of Malaria in Ghana.

NYANSAPO

+ Genomics

The Ghansah Lab conducts translational research into malaria and other parasitic infectious illnesses, with the ultimate objective of using genetic research findings to improve malaria control and elimination.

Our Research

We study genomic and genetic data in pathology, and in our populations, and we use computational biology to better understand and apply scientific insight.

Our Team

Our team is in Ghana, of Ghana, and are proud to work for the greater health of Ghana & and the world. Learn more about who we are or visit us at Noguchi Memorial in Accra.

Publications

We Publish our findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals around the Globe. View our work, our data, our methods, and join in our fight to improve malaria control.

Malaria Molecular Surveillance

In collaboration with our partners at the National Malaria Elimination Program (NMEP), we are at the forefront of using next-generation sequencing to track the emergence of known and unknown drug and diagnostic resistance markers in Ghana

Thank You To Our Partners

Genomics

We are focused on generating genetic data to support the control and elimination of malaria. The application of this data in malaria epidemiology helps stakeholders in public health make informed decisions with regards to parasite control and elimination strategies.

Computational Biology

Computational biology research here at the Ghansah labs encompasses topics under drug discovery, population genetics, vaccine design and computational genomics. These focus areas necessitate the application of computational methods which include but are not limited to mathematical modeling and simulation, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
